Steam tank, horizontal type STD (VPEG) water heaters are designed for heating water in hot water supply systems with its periodic discharging for a variety of production and economic needs.

Water heater STD of own production
KHIMMASHNEFTEGAZ manufactures tank steam horizontal heaters VPEG (sometimes called STD) with working volumes of 1; 1.6; 2.5; 4 m³.
The water heater is a shell-and-tube heat exchanger of horizontal type, the main components of which are the casing and the coil. Supports are welded to the water heater to put it in working position.
Water heater STD is equipped with a thermometer in a frame to measure water temperature at the outlet; manometer – to measure pressure; three-way valve, safety valve and other equipment as required by the Customer.
The primary coolant (saturated steam with pressure not exceeding 0.7 MPa or hot water with initial temperature of 95°C) is supplied to the coil. Cold water enters through the connection in the lower part of the water heater casing and displaces the heated water through the connection in the upper part of the casing.
The working capacity of the water heater is determined by the volume of water above the coil.
STD water heaters are installed horizontally on special support platforms with anchors and fastened with nuts. On one of the support platforms it is necessary to provide installation of a sliding plate to ensure the possibility of moving the movable support of the water heater during thermal expansion of the casing. The nuts on the movable support must be protected. After the heater is installed on the supports, all pipelines and fittings, control and measuring instruments and safety device are connected.
A drain line must be connected to the drain line. A free space must be left in front of the water heater coil cover to allow removal of the water heater coil during maintenance. The free space must be equal to the length of the water heater casing. To the drain connection of the safety valve, a pipeline must be connected to drain the water from the heater when the valve is activated.
